The autumnal air of New England is unmistakable. Difficult to put words or even poetry to, it buries itself in your bones, makes leaf prints on your soul, and conjures nostalgia like few other times of the year.

The angle of the sun shifts like slowing eyelids. Afternoon rays beat down and warm the cement, coax the pollen laden plumes of goldenrod, and illuminate the canary colored edges of sycamore leaves. 

Feral nettles and tall grasses reach high for a last wave in the breeze, releasing tiny windswept seeds to the elements. Cover crops refeed the soil.

Ferns calm in the cool nights and perk up again in the morning mist.

Verdant botanical perfume is a pure green land. One might consider it a soliflore. It is worn beautifully alone or layered with other perfumes to impart a stronger grassy influence. It is unisex and can be equally enjoyed by any gender that loves a green, non sweet scent. It is everything I love about a late summer garden and the feel of a dewy cool meadow.
